The fundamentals of basic English Phonology will be introduced and 
practiced in class.  The importance of both listening and speaking will be 
equally stressed.  Students will have the opportunity to practice their 
listening and speaking skills and will be encouraged to come up with their 
own learning strategies to further their proficiency. As pronunciation 
skills usually evolve slowly through use and extended practice, coming up 
with individual learning strategies will be especially important.

Only students who make a serious attempt to improve their command and 
understanding of English Phonology and demonstrate the potential to 
improve their listening and speaking skills will receive a passing mark.
