JAPANESE LANGUAGE & CULTURE PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

July 10 (Mon) - July 21 (Fri), 2017

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

This course offers you enjoyable and practical Japanese language lessons and a great opportunity to experience Japanese life and culture.

Two teachers will deliver the lectures, which will take place in a traditional Japanese house (on campus) with tatami rooms and you will practice Japanese conversation with Japanese volunteer students during the third period.
*Each lesson takes 50 minutes, with 2-3 lessons each morning.

CULTURAL PROGRAMS

During the program, you will participate some cultural programs (Tokai Solar car, Tea ceremony & Judo).

DAY TRIP

Each Wednesday, you will spend a full day on excursions, experiencing a mixture of cultural, historical(Mr. Fuji, amusument park, museums, temples, etc.) and fun-filled attractions in Tokyo. All transportation fees, admission fees and two lunches, two dinners are included in the program fee.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

You will stay in a double, triple or quad occupancy room (2-4 students in one room) located in our on-campus international dormitories.
If we run out of double occupancy rooms, we will put you in a double room in the teacher’s dormitory (approx. 20 minutes’ walk from the campus) The accommodation fee is included in the program fee, and the fee is the same for all room types.

Each room is equipped with beds, bedding, desks, chairs, closets, bookshelves, lamp stands, an air conditioner, a dresser and internet access. Equipments provided at the dormitory

Below you will find the course dates and fee for Tokai Cool Japan for 2017. We recommend registering early, as there are a limited number of places and spaces that may be completely filled by the end of April. (Maximum number of participants:25, Minimum:15.)There will be a selection if the number of applicants exceeds 25.

  • * The program fee includes Japanese lessons, cultural programs, Wednesday field trips with lunch and the accommodation fee(7/10-7/23).
  • * Meals(We provide 6 meals), airfare, daily expenses are not included in the fee.
  • * The payment instructions and dormitory application form will be given out after your application is accepted.
  • * The program fee is ¥ 150,000 but if you complete the payment within 10 days after receiving the invoice, we provide a discount of ¥ 40,000 (Early bird scholarship).
  • * All fees must be paid by overseas remittance no later than the payment deadline. If the payment is not received by June 10, the application will automatically be canceled.
  • * Only credit cards (VISA, Master, JCB) are accepted (If you make your payment through bank transfer (wire transfer), the additional fee is ¥ 4,000).
  • * No refunds for cancellation.
  • * Visa documents such as the acceptance letter will be issued after the payment is received.
  • * We strongly recommend you to arrive at Haneda airport(Not Narita airport).
  • * The arrival date indicated above refers to the date you should arrive at the Tokai University dormitories.
  • <Pickup service>

    • * If you require the guide staff at Narita or Haneda airport, we provide it to bring you to the limusine bus stop but this service is only for applicants who never came to Japan.
      The cost of guide (staff) will be paid by Tokai University but the tansportation fee must be paid by the applicant.
    • * If you require pickup service after you get off the limusine bus, the cost is 3,000 yen.
      The payment will be charged upon your arrival.
      If you come to the campus by yourself by public transportation, the travel fee will be approx. 3,800 yen from Haneda airport.

    <Requirements>

    • 1. Applicants must be 16 years old or older. If you are under 18 years old, please send the guardian's (parent's) consent formword when applying.
    • 2. Applicants must obtain a valid visa on their own.
      Click on the nationality of visa applicant who will travel to Japan. Please submit the 'Certificate of enrollment of your school or company if you need the visa documents.
    • * Please note that we require participants to purchase appropriate travel insurance before departure.
